DMCA: The file "REM_CassetteSet_ALmaster.zip" has been suspended

Posted without (much) comment from yours truly. 

Please discuss the ironies of the IFPI (the British RIAA, for us Americans) filing a DMCA takedown notice on materials recorded when the band was under contract to nobody, for materials the band gave away for free, when nobody but a few journalists and partygoers in Georgia knew who they were...

The file "REM_CassetteSet_ALmaster.zip" has been suspended

  2. This has to be from the REM organisation, or to be more precise, parties acting on their behalf. However, very curious that the Cassette Set is the the target of the Notice and nothing else.

  4. A similar thing is happening to Del Rivers .. he’s been posting remixes of songs he did with Fudge Club to Youtube and they’re trying to stop him… and he SANG with the group for gosh sakes.
